Gamma, the AI-powered platform for visual communication, announced the launch of Gamma 5, a complete rebuild of its platform designed to eliminate the “AI smell” that has become associated with AI-generated visual content. Gamma 5 preserves the speed and ease of use that attracted more than 100 million users to Gamma, while helping teams maintain a consistent brand identity across presentations, documents, websites, and other visual content.
As generative AI has become ubiquitous, the work it produces is all starting to have a similar look and feel. Presentations, images, and other visual assets carry a familiar “AI smell” that shows up in repetitive layouts, generic imagery, and predictable design choices. What once felt impressive can now make work feel cheaper and less thoughtful. At the same time, generalized AI systems require so much hand holding that they end up taking the same, if not more, time than doing the work manually. Gamma rebuilt its product to address this challenge head on.
“When every company’s work starts to look the same, people begin to question the thought and expertise behind it,” said Grant Lee, Co-founder and CEO of Gamma. “A team may have spent months developing an idea, but if the presentation looks like something anyone could generate in seconds, that expertise gets lost. Over time, that gap can erode trust in the work itself. We rebuilt Gamma so AI could help teams express what makes their ideas valuable, with the depth, context, and brand identity those ideas deserve.”
Key features in Gamma 5 include:
Instead of generic AI images and templates, Gamma 5 creates work that reflects a team’s brand and carries those guidelines, preferences, and context from one project to the next. Teams can build on each other’s work without having to reestablish how everything should look each time, keeping a consistent identity across projects.
"At Another, we have 250 people building hundreds of gammas a day, and all of them need to be visually perfect, on brand, and translated into three or more languages," said Jaspar Eyears, CEO and Founding Partner of Another.co. "We decided on Gamma because it was the most consistent and the best product. It was clear that this was the solution."
General-purpose AI systems have made it easier to generate text and images, but turning those outputs into finished work still requires decisions about structure, design, and brand consistency. Gamma 5 brings the process into one workflow, retaining context throughout editing and carrying brand preferences, custom instructions, and workspace templates into future projects. Teams can build on what they’ve already established, keeping their visual identity consistent from the first draft to the final delivery and across the work that comes next.
