FreightWise, a leading provider of managed transportation services and technology for shippers, announced the launch of Kuebix AI, an AI-backed transportation management system (TMS) built for SMB and mid-market shippers. Kuebix AI becomes the single platform for every FreightWise and Kuebix customer, combining multi-modal freight execution, carrier connectivity, dashboards and reporting, and integrations with the systems shippers already run, all supported by FreightWise's transportation expertise.
With Kuebix AI, FreightWise is taking a one-platform approach. Since FreightWise acquired Kuebix in 2023, FreightWise has operated two separate transportation management systems: FreightWise TMS and the Kuebix TMS platform. With the redesign of Kuebix to Kuebix AI, every customer works on the same technology, supported by one team and guided by one product roadmap. Aligning all of FreightWise's technology resources to a single roadmap means new features built in Kuebix AI reach every user faster.
Kuebix AI supports LTL, truckload, and parcel shipping in one place. Truckload capabilities now include AI-backed multi-stop truckload routing and AI-driven service time. The platform also delivers a faster, more intuitive interface, shortening the path to quoting, booking, tracking, and reporting.
Kuebix AI brings together a connected suite of tools:
"Kuebix AI is about giving every one of our customers the same strong foundation," said Chris Cochran, CEO of FreightWise. "Over the past year, our team has been rebuilding Kuebix with the same functionality Kuebix users have known for almost two decades, while innovating on the infrastructure, aligning AI with core features, and ensuring the platform has real staying power. Bringing FreightWise and Kuebix customers onto one platform means one team, one roadmap, and faster innovation for everyone. Our FreightWise team remains at the center of how we serve shippers. Kuebix AI amplifies that expertise so our customers can plan what's possible and ship what they promised."
At the core of Kuebix AI is what FreightWise calls operationally executable AI: AI that solves real pain points. Over the past year, FreightWise evaluated specific use cases where AI could improve the day-to-day work of shippers, informed by feedback from its customers and its own internal teams, who use the same platform every day.
"Over the past year, we didn't set out to add AI for the sake of it. After many conversations with customers and our internal users, we started with the real problems shippers face every day, like delivery dates that don't account for hours of service or appointments, and built AI that produces plans people can actually execute," said Chris Haarmeyer, Chief Technology Officer of FreightWise. "As the build out evolved, we also were mindful of how we make this a secure, closed environment. Customer data stays protected, it is never used to train third-party models, and every AI feature is opt-in."
FreightWise has already begun upgrading users and will continue upgrading Kuebix users to Kuebix AI in the coming year. FreightWise managed transportation customers previously on FreightWise TMS are now on Kuebix AI, with the same FreightWise support team and expertise. Additional AI-backed functionality will continue to roll out in 2027 and beyond.
